The two most common causes for crane boom failure are incorrect loading and overloading. Some of the factors of which always need to be kept in mind are Overload for length, height, or level of the crane. The overload of a short boom is often caused by poor installation. Improper calculation of overall load weight. Long boom too high. A sudden overload of a short crane boom is often caused by improper calculation of overall load weight. Over time, the load tends to accumulate to greater levels and can damage the system or cause the tower crane to fall. The above factors also contribute to the cause of crane boom failure.
